From Heartthrob to Heartbreak - Use Your Words

I had been concentrating on my career since my last breakup and swore I was done with finding a long-lasting relationship.  This was working out better than I anticipated and dating again was not on my mind.  But when I came out of the photo booth after getting a new passport photo taken -- there he was - standing in broad daylight.  I heard the birds chirp and the violins start to play.  Is there such a thing as love at first sight?  Could he be my long-awaited heartthrob?

#Love at first sight

We chatted a bit and I felt the feeling was mutual.  He was getting his passport picture taken as well.

There Is No Warning Rattle At The Door

There is no warning rattle at the door.  I am not sure why.  I was convinced there would be as I approached it.  The closer I came didn't seem to matter.  I had been prepared for it and expected it but here I am and....nothing.

@BatteredHope #rattle Sun rising one last time

Staring out my window as the sun came up over the horizon, I had no idea what the prognosis would be.  My appointment was only three hours away and somehow I knew what they were going to say.  Call it premonition or whatever you want, I just knew.  I had already prepared how I was going to tell my children and every time I thought about it I had to choke back the tears.

#AskAwayFriday with April Grant of 100lb Countdown

It is Friday and I am taking the plunge into #AskAwayFriday!  It is a fabulous way to connect and interview fellow bloggers.  Bloggers swap questions and answer those questions on their own blog.

Today I am swapping questions with April Grant of 100lb Countdown.  April is a wife, mom, fitness coach, author, blogger.  She endured the loss of her baby boy and is an encouragement to any who have suffered a similar loss.  Take the time to read her About Me  page and see what an awesome woman she has become.

Wouldn't You Love To Be A Fly On The Wall?

Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall sometimes?  Just to see what goes on behind closed doors?  Here's your chance.  This is a group challenge sharing what is going on in our homes.

@BatteredHope #Flyonthewall Which is better Blackberry or iPhone?

Blackberry or iPhone?

Everyone in my family has an iPhone.  Even my 2.5 year old grandson has an iPad.  So.... what's the problem that I can't decide whether to upgrade to a newer Blackberry or switch to an iPhone?  I did my research, checked with friends, checked on-line and still had not made a decision.  Off to the phone store, I was determined to have them help me decide.

How Do You Ask Your Fiance if He was Unfaithful the Night Before the Wedding?

One.  Two.  Three....Seven   The sound of the clocks brought me back to reality.  Nine...eleven
Was it really that late?  Twelve.

@BatteredHope #LightandShadeChallenge The clocks was striking twelve

I stood on the bridge at midnight as the clocks were striking the hour;  lost in my thoughts, vaguely aware it was starting to rain.  Isn't it written somewhere that if it rains on your wedding day, it is good luck?  I needed more than good luck.  I needed some guidance.

"Sorry, I don't really want to tell you this, but I will never forgive myself if I don't.  I saw Jake with another woman a couple days ago and it was obvious they were more than friends."

Mother's Day Pity Party

It is Mother's Day today.  I decided to throw myself a pity party.  Why was I so sad today?  My mom died when I was 18.  But that was a long time ago, so that isn't why I was in self-pity.  My son and his family walked away from our family almost two years ago - without a word.  That is still heartbreaking but I'm getting better.  So, that wasn't it either.  So, why was I feeling so sorry for myself?

@BatteredHope #pain #pity   Mother's Day pity party

My hubby was going to take me to the big city today.  We were going to visit friends, go to a Mother's Day Tea and then out for dinner.  It would be fun, uplifting and help mask some of the past hurts.  Up at 4:15 this morning, so that we could catch the early ferry, I woke him at 5.  "I can't make it.  My pain level is over the top.  I'm sorry."

A TO Z Challenge - Kudos and Thank Yous

The pressure is off.  Have you noticed that the comments on your A - Z blog posts dwindled after the middle of the month?  I believe that most of us were getting behind a little more every day.  Personally, I still have six letters (U - Z) to read and comment.

@BatteredHope #AtoZChallenge pen

Huge kudos to Corinne who organized and managed the challenge and maintained her own posts as well.

What did I get out of this challenge?
