To Flash or Not to HOT Flash - That is the Question

Hot flashes.  Dry skin.  Night Sweats.  Insomnia.  Mood swings. Hair loss.  Memory loss.   It has been suggested that Baby Boomer's hot flashes are causing Global Warming!

Sound familiar?  There are many posts written about menopause. Most of them are humorous yet packed with information on how to survive the numerous symptoms and body changes. 

I beg you not to roll your eyes at me but when I read and comment on these posts, I feel ostracized as if I am some kind of weirdo or liar.  I am told I am one of the "lucky" ones.  I am acutely aware of the list of symptoms that are common to menopausal women.  I often wondered why we don't find posts about women who have not had to deal with these negatives.  Do some women bypass them or could there be another reason?

Luck has nothing to do with it. As a health coach, I have written several posts on how to age gracefully, at a slow speed – instead of one that escalates faster than you had ever hoped. I share how I never went through the stages of menopause that most women abhor and complain about. So, what's the secret?

Don't get me wrong, we all age; but we do not have to feel or look our age if we have the tools to avoid many of these negatives.  I wish I could talk face to face with each of you  to reassure you that women can go through these midlife stages without the dreaded symptoms.  At worst, they can greatly minimize them.

I can also speak from personal experience as the only symptom I had to deal with was about two weeks of hot flashes at the onset of menopause. As soon as I realized what was going on I adjusted the food supplements I was taking to counteract the symptoms and had immediate improvement. 

There is something you can do about it and for most women that is exciting. I started a series on my blog entitled World's Biggest Con Game. I give details on how to determine the best food supplements. Many people comment that they are taking all the supplements they are supposed to, but there isn't any real change. Then my question is – why are you taking them?  They are obviously not working.  You need to find out why to be sure you are getting what you need to realize improvement.  Our bodies have the ability to heal and repair themselves if given the proper tools.   I will list these posts at the bottom of this page.  This is an on-going series with more information to follow. 

Every time I read an article about something “new and improved” my antennae goes up. Usually, 'new and improved' means the addition of more chemicals/synthetics. If you are looking for improving your health, you will never find it with pharmaceuticals. Please understand that there is a place for medication and it is often the only answer when we need a quick fix. But only 'life' can build 'life' and if your supplements are not “alive and well” you won't be either. When you purchase a product, find out if it has the life factor.  My articles will help you with that.

What can I do?

I can guarantee you that 90% of what is available for consumption has little to no value in building your health on a cellular level. If you are looking for a gummy bear, go to your candy store. But as soon as you learn how to read labels, you will quickly realize that you can determine what is good for you and what is not; whether your body can assimilate the product, if it is in proper balance, etc.

Recently I was watching a movie starring a 70+ beautiful actress who is physically fit and consistently works out. As a joke, she held up her arm and showed the upper arm wings she had acquired. You DON'T have to have that. I regrettably do not exercise as I should, but I do not have the flabby arms.  Why? Because I know what nutrients to take to make sure my body has the ability to make natural collagen cementing my cells together to maintain tone.

My hair never falls out and there isn't one gray hair yet. I have energy to burn (and I don't drink coffee). I sleep solid – every single night. Are you getting the picture? I'm not trying to flaunt good health but to encourage you that it is possible. I do not take any medication because I don't need any. There are natural alternatives and more importantly, preventive measures you can take; i.e., for the flabby arms or graying hair.

My clients often tell me of their frustrations in trying to share with their family or friends how their health has been restored. They are usually met with an eye roll or that look of disbelief. They tell me how they want to shout it from the rooftops that you can age gracefully in addition to never getting colds or the flu because your immune system is strong and working properly.

If you take time for your health today, you will have health for your time tomorrow. 

Pretty basic truth. I had cancer over 40 years ago. My choices were hysterectomy or death – I didn't like those choices so made my own choice. I started researching food supplements and walked into the doctor's office 14 years after the diagnosis - cancer free and pregnant!

I was crippled with Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was in my twenties and told I would spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair as it was running rampant throughout my body affecting all my joints. Two years later I was arthritis and prescription drug-free.
