How Do You Manage Your Time?

Each of us is given 24 hours a day to spend any way we want -- aside from obligations, commitments, jobs, family, promises, or responsibilities.  If we are fortunate enough to have any spare time......we can have some fun!

Recently someone told me that there is 'scientific' research proving that time is moving faster in the past decade.  I have a difficult time wrapping my brain around that.  There are still 60 seconds in a minute.  But, I have to agree, those minutes seem to be racing around the clock.

I thought To-Do lists were supposed to get shorter but mine seems to grow every day.  Anyone else agree?

It seems no matter how hard we work or how much we accomplish, those times with family are the ones that have the greatest rewards -- the ones we remember the longest -- the ones we photograph.

Having my daughter and grandkids visit for a full week (not once but TWICE this summer) gave me incredible memories to reflect on during the busiest times.

I have a deep drawer in my office where I store their toys.  Brie walked in the front door and before saying anything she ran into my office to get the toys.  This is her surprised look when she saw what Gramma bought her.  I was saving it for a rainy day but......

Our SIL had a professional photoshoot done of Brie playing at the beach with him.  The pictures are awesome.  Here are some of them:

Papa took William to the driving range a couple of times at which he improved a lot each time.  He has interesting sport choices -- golf and boxing.  He continues to advance in boxing.
Pain is relative to.....

While at our family reunion (Michigan and Wisconsin) in July, I dislocated my knee.  Strange diagnosis.  Makes it sound like I can't find it.  No problem finding it -- it still hurts.  When the doc said it might be swollen for a year or two, I thought he was kidding.  But now, three months later it still looks like a fence post.  Wonder how long I will have to wear this crazy brace!

I was concerned if I would be able to keep up the pace on my speaking tour last week.  Speaking in a different city each day meant a great deal of driving and then standing two or more hours at each event.  It is funny how you don't notice the pain when you are fulfilling your passion.  I love speaking more than any of the jobs I have and would do it fulltime if I could.  Each event was better than the last and although exhausted after six days, I was ecstatic with the response.

Are you blessed with friends who inspire and push

you out of your comfort zone?

This past month two of those friends would not ease up on me until I promised them I would start writing my next book.  I kept putting the idea on the shelf because of time commitments and feeling inadequate on so many levels UNTIL one of them challenged me to write 15 minutes a day.  I can do that.  I have started that.  With that commitment, came a new excitement and drive to complete the task I have set my mind to do.  Thank God for people who support us, right?

If I stop to think about what that will require, I want to quit.  Guess I better not think about that.

This has been my Fly-on-the-Wall post for this month.  Buzz around --  be a fly on the wall at my fellow blogger's homes.  Each of these gals is a great blogger -- you will enjoy having a look around their blogs as well as this month's post:

  2. YES, write that next book. And I have to tell you those pictures are just amazing. My son just moved away and I took almost 30 pictures and had them framed for him. No matter what kind of day you have, pictures of family and friends can bring a smile to our face.

  3. Wow---your photographer did a GREAT job. Brie is adorable! And I have to agree---time really does feel like it's moving faster...but only because I'm getting older.

    1. I agree with you about time seems to be going faster as we age (although you are still sooooo young and I'm jealous!) but according to scientists they say it is moving faster. That is just not possible.

  4. Absolutely adored the photos of Brie and her dad, Carol! My, she is such a beautiful little girl. And I'm excited to hear you've started working on a new book, too. Keep at it, and it will happen.
    Blessings!
