It caught my eye. Normally, I scan the local newspaper and don't even notice the classifieds, but today was different. She caught my eye.
The saddest, sweetest face I have ever seen and she was staring right at me. I turned the page and tried to forget her. Then I had to turn back and look again. She was beckoning me.
"This is ridiculous," I said out loud and turned the page again. My tea kettle was beckoning me now and I put the paper down to finish making breakfast and get the kids off to school.
I couldn't think about anything but those EYES
Why had I looked in the paper that morning and saw what was on sale? Why did the ad have to say 'going fast' beneath the pictures of the puppies? Why can't I get her out of my head?
She filled our home with joy
She was our baby, our choice, part of our family and loved by all who met her.
She would be remembered.....forever.
