One Heroic Dog's Story

One Dog's Story.  One Heroic Dog's Story. For all you dog lovers out there - this one is definitely for you.

Meet Brutus, a military K9 at McChord.  He is the first K9 to receive the Medal of Honor for his tour in the Middle East.  Brutus tops the scales at 200 pounds.  He is part Boxer and part British Bull Mastiff - quite the combo!
@BatteredHope An incredible Hero - Brutus
Brutus is running toward his favorite - a TREAT

Here is his incredible story:

Brutus' handler and four other soldiers were taken hostage by insurgents in the Middle East.  Brutus understood sign language and his handler gave Brutus the signal that meant "Go away -  but come back and find me."  The captors paid no attention to Brutus.

Brutus came back - with FORCE.  He quietly and quickly tore out the throat of one guard at one door and then the second guard at another door.  The soldiers were being held in an old warehouse.  Brutus jumped against one of the doors with brute force.  He did this repeatedly.  When Brutus finally got the door open, he untied his handler and all the men escaped.

Brutus is the first canine to receive this honor.  But the story does not end there.  Brutus is a lap dog.  Yup -- a 200 pound lap dog.  Got the picture?  Oh, he also likes to play with cats.  He is extremely intelligent and knows how to bond with humans giving and receiving love.

Brutus wants to show you how to properly hug a baby

First....... find a baby

Second.....double check - Yup! It's a baby!

Third....You need to gently 'flatten' the baby before hugging

Fourth....This is the 'paw slide'

Simply slide paws around baby and prepare to get up close and personal

Finally.....hopefully a camera is present as you
HUG, SMILE and LEAN

Do you have an heroic dog story to share?
