Writing is the EASY part -- selling your book takes a lot of work

Writing a book is the easiest part.  It is fun to sit down late at night and type away and put down your thoughts and feelings and experiences.

Then publishing -- well, that is a WHOLE different story -- that is WORK and it seemed endless.  But....eventually it is in print and you get your first copy in the mail.  So, you can just sit back and watch the books fly off the shelves. NOT!

Then the real work begins.  I spend a minimum of 3 hours a day promoting it on line and haven't even started to promote the hard copies - which will mean calling TV stations, radio stations, book stores and setting up travel, etc.

At some point, do you think someone will read it and say "Let's make this a best seller!" and it gets on Oprah?

Gosh - it is overwhelming.  I have read dozens of articles of how to be a success in this field and trying not to get in overwhelm mode.  Is this why people have agents?
